We are pleased to present a selection of collages by Karel Appel on the occasion of our latest book publication "Karel Appel. Collages 1957-1968".

The monograph reevaluates a particularly productive period and explores the works in the context of Nouveau Réalisme, taking into account new research approaches. With a further focus on the topic of collage, the book examines how Karel Appel adopted this technique in his unique compositions. For the first time, the publication presents nearly all of the artist's collages from the late 1950s and 1960s.
